In this song I am talking about how we as humans limit our self, making us blind for everything we don't want to belive. We often create castles and towers to protect our weaknesses. We hide behind them to justify our behaviours, force our self to act in one specific way, being slaves to our self. God wants to tear down these towers of anxiety, of accusations or pride. God wants to rebuild us from a solid foundation and show us all the doors and paths which we have overseen due to our self chosen blindness. Thanks to him: We are free!
lyrics
Einst Wege sich
vor mir erstreckten
Nun Mauern
ragen empor
Vor meinen Augen
erstreckt sich Geäst
Schmälert meine
Sicht
Die Kehle
gebunden
Das Atmen
fällt mir schwer
Die Sonne
versperrt
von Ästen
der Uneinsichtigkeit
Fahl erscheint
das Schloss
Erbaut
vor vielen Jahren
Steine der Angst
zieren die Mauern
Verwehren mir
mein Tun
Wie konnte man errichten
das Gefängnis meiner selbst?
Wie konnte ich übersehen
was sich um mir erstreckt?
Doch mit der
Atemlosigkeit
die Klarheit
steigt empor
Wie weit muss es gehen
bis wir es sehen?
Der Maurer
war ich selbst!
Erschaffte
all die
Gemäuer, Türme
selbst!
Pflanzte Bäume
zum Schutze
meiner selbst!
Doch eh ich mich versah
verbaute ich mir all die Wege
Einzig welcher verbleibt
ist der, der vor mir liegt!
Mach mich frei!
Es führt kein Weg zurück!
Mach mich frei!
Es führt kein Weg zurück!
Mach mich frei!
Es führt kein Weg zurück!
Mach mich frei!
Es führt kein Weg zurück!
Es führt kein Weg zurück!
Es führt kein Weg
kein Weg zurück!
Doch als ich in mich ging
erblickte ich die Bögen
All die kahlen Türen
in jeder fahlen Mauer
In meinen Händen
ein Bund von tausend Schlüsseln
Verstecke ich mich hinter Mauern
Oder bin ich endlich frei?
